Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher is kind of a love story between a girl and her cyborg-- except, the term 'cyborg' won't be coined until a century later and the girl is kinda dead. Kinda. You'll see...

For some, death is only the beginning.
My favorite conceptual sketch of Finn
done by my sister, Miranda.

Marked for death before she was born, Asha Wise owes her existence to a centuries-old evil escaped from a lost midew's web. Though she lives in Manhattan, her soul rightfully belongs to Tir Na Nog-- a legendary otherworld that lies beyond the edges of the map. Despite her father's resilience to keep her hidden, the demons of the otherworld will not rest until they claim what is theirs.

Having spent the last eighteen years locked away in secrecy, the only friend Asha has ever known is Finn-- a young Irishman reinvented and engineered to be her guardian. With the death of her father-- Manhattan's most revered 'dream catcher'-- Finn is all that stands between Asha and her untimely fate. In an effort to stop the evil from threatening a revival of the Black Death, Asha and Finn must journey to Tir Na Nog to reveal her father's secrets and the even darker truths behind them.

In the isle of the dead, Asha will discover much more than the lost midew, including her love for Finn, and in the end, the fate of the worlds lies in her hands, for she must choose between a death with Finn or a life without him, forever.

Complete at 66,000 words, Dream Catcher is a YA fantasy/adventure set in the late nineteenth century that explores strength, morality, and questions whether or not love, alone, can define one’s humanity.
